ABEBA is a company with an established position with German roots, founded over 30 years ago. In 2007, it became part of the PROTEKTOR brand to expand the portfolio of the entire group and further to improve our products.

The production facilities are located in Poland and Moldova. The company's headquarters and distribution centre remain in St Ingbert. This location serves as the doorway to the rest of the world, allowing us to ship dependable and durable footwear to dozens of locations around the globe.

Where does the name ABEBA come from?
The word simply means “flower” and was derived directly from the name of the Ethiopian capital “ADDIS ABEBA”, which translates as “new flower”. However, the name itself has far more hidden meanings.
- The first letter A symbolises the former production site, located in the Italian town of Arzergrande.
- BE stands for Bender, a town on the west bank of the Dniester, where one of the company's production sites was also located.
- BA stands for Barletta, a port city in the Italian province of Barletta-Andria-Trani in Apulia, which is also associated with ABEBA production.
The name sounds the same - read from the front as well as the back, which in turn gives it additional character.
